Alaias are the original expression of a desire to surf waves.
A chance taken to stand on timber as water rushes beneath your feet. Trees bordering beaches were transformed into flat, finless surfboards. Each tree turned board became a living, sporting form of art. A blank canvas to fill with experience and contact with nature. Traces of rides caught and missed, reef scrapes, and sand scars. Wood companions that age and change with use and time. Each alaia is unique, like its surfer.
